Your game looks really cool! 😊 I'm the leader of a small bundle community where we occasionally put together game bundles, and it's that time again!
Your game would be a perfect fit for our current collection, so I wanted to reach out and ask if you'd like to join us. If you're interested, you can submit your game directly here: https://itch.io/jam/urb2015. I'd truly appreciate it if you'd consider participating!
Regarding mining gold, were you trying to use the pickaxe on a wall outside of the quest area? The quest mechanics have changed and now the pickaxe only works there.
As for the final boss, defeating it won’t cause anything to happen automatically, but a passage should have opened up behind it.
There isn’t a dedicated necromancer class, but there are some items and game mechanics that are quite necromancer-like.
In particular the wand of corruption lets you turn weakened enemies to your control, and this can be combined with a quest item that generated wraiths new you (usually harmful) to get a build that the community usually calls the necromancer build.
I had no idea the original game was open source, no wonder I've seen so many versions of it lol. What's different with your version? Im playing but cant really tell the difference
Honestly it’s hard to pick a specific thing that’s different between Shattered and the original Pixel Dungeon, there are fewer things that are similar at this point! Almost everything is different gameplay-wise aside from the very core gameplay loop, but if you’d like a little summary of the biggest visual changes I did write a blog post about that semi-recently: https://shatteredpixel.com/blog/ten-years-of-shattered-pixel-dungeon.html
That was a good read! Thank you for the reply, been enjoying the game on and off for quite a while now, and only just now noticed the version I've had sitting on my phone was Shattered lol
Getting closer than I have before to the ending, hoping I can finally pull it off on pc
Unfortunately there isn’t any difficulty selection. I have considered adding a ‘start mode’ at some point, but it would probably end at floor 10.
In the meantime though, you shouldn’t be afraid of dieing, trying and failing and trying again is the best way to learn. There’s also an in-game guidebook meant to help point you in the right direction.

Surprised to see it here, let alone not knowing that Shattered had been on itch for much longer than I know!
I played the pc version from itch.io and I have found some bugs:
I couldn't mine gold with the pickaxe.
And I defeated the final boss and nothing happend.

I'm sorry, I was blind.
Both work, and the blacksmith's quest is amazing.
No worries!
